Here at HLF, we believe the smallest steps can sometimes make the biggest impact when it comes to sustainability.
From beginning to end, we have been wholeheartedly committed to taking care and consideration of the environmental journey, which is hugely beneficial in the long run. Rather than contributing to landfills, we strive to supply furniture manufactured from high-quality, timeless, and durable materials, made to last for many years to come. Furthermore, our head office is undergoing a sustainable energy review with a view to becoming 100% renewable.

Locally Made
We understand that international shipping, whether by air or sea, is still on the rise and a huge contributor to pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Being aware of our carbon footprint and not wanting to contribute to global shipping emissions, we made the very positive decision for our sofas to be handmade in the UK at our warehouse in North East England. Shipping across the UK will only use a fraction of the fuel than if it was being shipped from overseas. So, this is not only helping our own Carbon Footprint but yours as well!
Additionally, we are taking active steps to manage our carbon outputs by investing in the Carbon Trust software. This will enable us to measure our outputs and set further improvements. Recycle Packaging
Whilst we recognise packaging is necessary and important for protecting and preserving your furniture, at HLF we will not just see this as ‘waste’. After we have delivered and assembled your furniture, we will also responsibly recycle the packaging for your own peace of mind.

Local Connections
We work with many local charities to remove unwanted older pieces of furniture and gift them to local charities that see them getting a new lease of life with people in need of furniture. This effort is hugely important to us from a socio-economic standpoint, and we are always eager to hear from local charities who need our assistance in regard to this.
